Amalia Genera Ley
October 1, 1942 - January 4, 2026
Amalia Genera Ley, 83, entered eternal rest on January 4, 2026, in El Paso, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
Amalia lived a life of service to others, and her family was her greatest source of pride and joy. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adalberto C. Ley.
Our beautiful Amalia has left an emptiness in our hearts that will heal with time. We will miss her words of wisdom, loving guidance, and encouragement during life’s challenges. Her recipes have been handed down to her daughter, granddaughter, and nieces, and the Christmas Eve tamalada remains a family tradition.
Amalia is survived by her loving daughter, Diana Genera Barajas (Hector Pulido); her loving granddaughter, Josephine E. Barajas (father Richard M. Barajas); and her loving brother, Roberto Genera. Her loving nephews include David Genera (Star Genera), Javier Genera (Leticia), Rogelio Genera (DeeDee), Mario Genera (Manny), Albert Genera Jr., and Ruben Genera. Her loving nieces are Patricia Genera, Nicolas Jordan, and Elizabeth Genera. Grand-nephews: Zeke and Josh; grand-nieces: Sparkle Marie, Antonia Lynn, Briana; and great-grand-niece Ava.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose M. and Celsa Genera, and siblings Raymundo Genera, Alberto Genera Sr., Rogelio and Maria Luisa Genera, Josephina Genera, and Anna Maria Genera. She is also survived by extended family members and friends who will cherish and lovingly honor her memory.
We would like to thank Bien Vivir Comfort Care Team, Casa Everay and team, for the loving care provided to my mother through the many years of her illness.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear.”
